I've just finished the edits for Trusting the ER Doctor and they weren't nearly as grueling as I was dreading they would be. The most difficult part of the edits was navigating Microsoft's track changes. If this isn't something you're familiar with already, get familiar with it because it's the tool your editor is likely to use. When I critiqued a writing partner's work, I'd just use the comments, but now that I'm aware of track changes, I'll use that to get more comfortable with it.
Next up is completing a story for an anthology to which I've already committed. The story is more than half done, but somehow the last 50% is taking 80% longer to do. I'm setting a goal of having it finished by the end of the week. On top of my day job ramping up, it looks this will be a busy week ahead.

I'm not big on making New Year's resolutions but I do want to do a better job of posting. I've made out a writing schedule and I'm committed to fulfilling it so that's kind of a resolution as well. Also I want to be more patient, tolerant, and stop biting my fingernails. Those are resolutions I make every year and end up breaking every year too. But I'm going to try, and that's all I can really ask of myself.
